distinguished career of Wendell Anderson has been highlighted
by many honors, including, being a member of the United States
Olympic Hockey Team which won a Silver Medal in 1956; in
1970, being the youngest governor in the nation while already
having 12 years of legislative experience; in 1974, winning
the state gubernatorial election with the largest percentage
since 1916; being selected by Time Magazine as one of the
200 American leaders of the future and one of 150 international
leaders of the future in 1974; serving as Chairman of the
Platform Committee for the Democratic National Convention
in 1976; and being a former Honorary Swedish Consulate General.
